SAN JUAN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL

CAPISTRANO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

San Juan Hills High School is part of Capistrano Unified School District in Southern California. The project includes the design of 96 classrooms for grades 9-12, a performing arts theater and black box, stadium, and gymnasiums which all totals approximately 210,000 square feet of building space. Project phasing was used to support the enrollment plan used by the district, which included having the school open in 2007 with only a freshman class.

The Performing Arts Center at the school encompasses the design of a theater, two dance studios, dressing rooms, an animation studio, a music studio, a green room and black box theater. The main stage is equipped with fly lofts that stretch almost 100 feet, four catwalks, and 12 trap doors the can move actors or props up and down in the blink of an eye.

In addition, San Juan Hills High School added a 33-Meter pool, community instructional pool, lighting, scoreboard and timing system, and mechanical and restroom building.
