MORSE HIGH SCHOOL AGRISCIENCE CTE

SAN DIEGO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

The future Agriscience Center at Morse High School, within the San Diego Unified School District, will mark a groundbreaking milestone in educational advancement. The 2,200 square foot center embodies a modern nexus of learning, comprising of a cutting-edge lab/natural science classroom and a dedicated greenhouse. This pioneering establishment marks the launch of SDUSD's inaugural Agriscience program, poised to redefine educational paradigms within the district.

The center fosters experiential learning through diverse avenues. The facility embodies shaded outdoor spaces conducive to immersive learning, while urban gardening platforms cultivate hands-on engagement. With a horticultural focus, the center is equipped with state-of-the-art hydroponic technology, facilitating hands-on exploration of sustainable agricultural practices. Viniculture, vegetable and herb gardens will work in harmony, providing a living tableau of biological processes.

The Agriscience Center stands as a testament to holistic education, replete with a chicken coop that promotes understanding of animal husbandry and a stone fruit orchard for comprehensive botanical insight. By spearheading this project, SDUSD will chart an educational course that will resonate far beyond the classroom, shaping the district's Agriscience curriculum and fostering a new generation of environmentally-conscious, scientifically-adept leaders.
