Jeffrey Trail Middle School is in the Irvine Unified School District, located within the area of Jeffrey and Trabuco roads. The school opened its doors in September 2013, Jeffrey Trail Middle School is participating in the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) program in order to access additional funding. Spaces that are included are Administration, Multipurpose/Stage, Food Service, Library/Media Center and Health services, 18 standard classrooms, 6 science classrooms, 3 computer labs, art classroom and court, music, choral, a fitness center with locker rooms and showers. The design is based on a core media center with attached surrounding classroom villages for various grade levels. Energy and water efficiency aspects of the project include lighting fixtures and controls, efficient mechanical systems, high insulation values in the building envelope, and low water consumption including plumbing fixtures and reclaimed water.

Jeffrey Trail Middle School will provide the children of Irvine Unified School District a place to continue the high level of education set forth in the districts middle schools not only with traditional classes but also an emphasis on the science and arts.
