Madison Elementary School Whole Site Modernization is part of the inaugural phase of major projects initiated by the Pasadena Unified School District following the passing of Measures O and R. PJHM has partnered with the district to deliver a comprehensive, state-of-the-art revitalization of both interior and exterior learning environments, while also addressing key infrastructure upgrades.
At its core, Madison is a neighborhood school that has served as a community resource for more than 95 years. Emphasis was placed on creating community assembly and gathering spaces for both school and after-hours use. PJHM’s careful and methodical approach—respecting the original architecture—is complemented by a technological reactivation of classrooms and shared spaces.
Outdoor learning areas are designed to offer variety, enrichment, and opportunities for all students, supporting learning through play.
