Italian architect and illustrator Federico Babina has transformed famous works of art into illustrations of architectural buildings. Using artists such as Piet Mondrian, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Marcel Duchamp, Picasso and Salvador Dali, Federico has merged the worlds of art and architecture. The 27 illustration series has been titled ‘Archist‘.
“There is a symbiotic relationship and implicit partnership between Architecture and Art. Different art branches meet in many fields,” Babina wrote to Dezeen. “Art and architecture are disciplines that speak and lightly touch each other. The definition and function of the architecture are changing constantly with the development of contemporary art.” Babina has plans to turn his illustrated architectural series into a book.
